National Law Enforcement Memorial

The National Law Enforcement Memorial was built to honor men and women who have fallen in the line of duty while protecting and serving the public. Names of more than 17,500 officers are engraved into the wall, some dating back as far as 1972, with more added each May during National Police Week. Your travel group will feel the presence of our fallen heroes when you visit this memorial. The memorial leads its visitors through a circle with the names of fallen soldiers engraved on white stone. Your group will stare in awe at the statues of lions and their cubs lying on the white stone at the entrance and exit of the memorial. The lions watch over their cubs protectively as the officers looked over the country’s citizens. This memorial is an essential part to any patriotic visit to Washington, D.C. Don’t miss this touching and beautiful memorial for our fallen officers. You will truly feel your American pride bursting as you walk through this amazing and touching experience. As you touch the names of these fallen soldiers, try to imagine the sacrifice they made while protecting you. A 55,000 square foot underground facility will be built near the facility and is expected to be open in 2015, this will help to showcase the story of American law enforcement through high-tech, interactive exhibits, collections, research and education, and make the memorial experience much more moving. This will be unforgettable and your group is sure to love an experience as patriotic and proud as this.
