National Cryptologic Museum

The National Cryptologic Museum will make some events in American and world history take on new meaning. The museum allows visitors to see some of the most historic moments in American cryptology. Visitors here are told about the people who devoted their lives to our nation’s defense and American cryptology, machines and devices these people invented, the places they would work, and the techniques they would use. That’s sure to excite any group tour! Your group will be in wonderment as you hear how messages were sent during the Civil War, how the U.S. entered wars due to broken coded messages, and even get to touch some of the artifacts! Your group will also get the chance to see some of the earliest supercomputers and secure telephones. Upon request, special attention can be paid to any of these areas. This museum was opened to the public in 1993 after being previously used to house artifacts and give employees a place to reflect. The National Cryptologic Museum hosts 50,000 visitors every year from all over the country and even from all over the world. This museum will give you a small glimpse of code making and breaking!
